Do my files get uploaded?
No. The text is read inside your browser and the .txt file is made on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Can I read a scanned PDF this way?
Not directly. A scan has no selectable text, so Merji will tell you to run it through OCR first, then try again.
Does it keep the layout?
It keeps the reading order, line by line, with a blank line between pages. Columns, tables and exact spacing aren't preserved — it's plain text.
Can I copy the text without downloading?
Yes. The text is shown in a preview box with a Copy all button, as well as the .txt download.
